Designated Funds
Designated funds are established by businesses and individuals to benefit a specific purpose, program or school. Linn-Mar School Foundation manages the following designated funds for the benefit of a wide variety of programs and projects.
Corporate and Individual Funds
AAA Fund – Family Merchants Bank created a fund several years ago to sponsor participation in sports and extracurricular activities for students with financial need. The fund was a huge success and continues today as the Athletics, Activities and Academics (“triple A”) Fund, welcoming contributions from all sources.
Robert and Ruby Stephens Fund – The Robert and Ruby Stephens Fund was initially created to provide middle and/or high school students with summer school funding. Today, income from the fund is used to help any promising student who needs funding for academic assistance.
Moscrip Donor-Advised Fund – Karl and Kathy Moscrip (owners of Hall Bicycle) created a donor-advised fund in 2001 for Linn-Mar schools. Grants have supported a wide-range of projects throughout the district with an emphasis on books and music.
School-based Funds
Most Linn-Mar schools, sports and clubs have a designated fund that is managed by the Foundation. These funds are held under the umbrella of the Foundation’s 501(c)(3) charitable status and are eligible for tax benefits and corporate matches. These benefits are not provided by the individual schools.
